  2. Row 1: dc in each stitch across, turn with a stacked sc.
  3. Row 2: *fpdc around next 2, dc in next 2* repeat across.
  4. Row 3: dc across, keeping cable columns aligned.
  5. Row 4: *dc in next 2, fpdc around next 2* to offset cables.
  6. Row 5: repeat Row 3, check tension against gauge swatch.
  7. Row 6: cable crossing row — skip 2, fpdc 2, fpdc skipped 2.
  8. Row 7: dc across; place marker at centre stitch.
  9. Row 8: repeat Rows 2–7 until wrap measures 60 cm; begin border.
